For all of us who work at ServerGrove the openness of the Internet has always been the driving force that made us want to be a part of it. If SOPA passes, it make companies liable for everything their users post and will give both the U.S. government and copyright holders the authority to seek court orders against websites associated with infringing, pirating and/or counterfeiting intellectual property. The implication of having the act pass is that it will drastically change the way the Internet operates and will most likely stifle one of the only growing industries during this economic downturn.

Written as it is, we cannot support the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), as well as S.968, the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA).
