Online, we like to think of ourselves as a global company, but in RL our corporate headquarters are based out of Miami, FL. We’ll admit it, one of our favorite pass times in winter is turning on CNN and watching northerners swerve on roads in blizzards. Joking aside, we have often spoken about how great it would be to have a mid-winter PHP conference down here and have everyone come down to take a break from the cold and learn some PHP.

Well… it’s happening! Adam Culp, the grand leader of the South Florida PHP community decided to organize one. Now many of you don’t know Adam, but the dude has energy. He runs a marathon before breakfast every day (we are not kidding), is a great PHP developer, has managed to consolidate the PHP community here in South Florida, and to boot, has the organizational skills of a team of Martha Stewarts. So we have a gut feeling this is going to be a special conference, not only because of the location, but because of the leadership.

We proposed to organize a Symfony track for the conference and Adam jumped right in, so we are super excited to work on it. Needless to say we are going all out on this one, and based on some of the ideas floating around, it’s going to be good… very good. This is the first time a conference is going to represent Symfony in such a way in the East Coast, so if you still don’t know much about Symfony, especially if you are in the Drupal world (the next version will use a bunch of Symfony components), this is a good time opportunity to learn about this great framework with the best Symfony speakers in the world.

The Keynote speaker will be Rasmus Lerdorf and there are some other awesome speakers we still can’t talk about.

We have the feeling 2013 is going to start with a bang for the PHP community. Get out of the cold and come sip some Mojitos with us. We look forward to seeing all of you down here!
